Mt. Xiao Wu Tai is spotted with the golden Trollius flowers in summer, which is definitely a highlight. As my hiking fellows put it, \"it is the best mountain around Bei Jing.\" You can feel its magnificence hiking on the top ridge, as there is the right amount of elevation gain to go beyond the tree line.
Note that the mountain, under the typical windy & dry climate of north China, is without evil insects, so expect to see more shelter (w/o a inner tent) users.
