Yubeng villages are hidden within the Meili Snow Mountains. These days, there's probably a proper road that takes visitors straight there. Back then, though, I took a bypass trail to avoid the ticket to the official scenic area.

The trail began with a steep descent from Feilai Temple all the way to the Lancang River, where a deserted suspension bridge waited below. I spent that afternoon in Xidang Village and enjoyed a wild natural hot spring.

The next morning, I climbed over a mountain pass above 3,000 meters. Snow reached my knees with every step. By late afternoon, I finally arrived in Yubeng, the village that felt cut off from the outside world.

Round trails to the Glacier Lake or to the Sacred Waterfall are the two popular routes at the Yubeng villages.
