This route starts from the Miao\'er Gou village in the Heibei province, and ends at the Dong Yang He village in the south. Terrain was the typical \"Great Wall on mountains\" with endless ascents and descents along the mountain ridges.
This section of the Great Wall is wild and very difficult: there is no water source, no flat campsite, and no trail. Expect only animal paths that can be vaguely identified sometimes. To make things even worse, everyday started with the blue sky and sunshine in the morning, and ended into hailstones and snowflakes exactly at 3 o\'clock in the afternoon! The weather in the early spring is dramatic. My friend Ms. Ya and I agreed that it was felt like high-altitude mountaineering. |
