This route starts from the Dong Yang He village in the Heibei province and ends at the highway or boarder between the Heibei province and the Shanxi province in the west. Terrain was the typical \"Great Wall on mountains\", with endless ascents and descents along the mountain ridges.
I went in the coldest winter time around minus 15 degrees and had to spend the whole night in a cave behind a beacon tower constructed 500 years ago, simply because it was impossible to set up a tent. The midnight wind, roaring like thousands of ghost soldiers was definitely terrible. It was REALLY an unforgettable night! |
