Patch & tape

Overview

The DCF patches and tapes are hand made by applying adhesive to the DCF as the backing material. They can be used to repair or for reinforcement, on the shining surface(s) of DCF or on Tyvek(r). In non‑outdoor context, the patches/tapes also stick very well to smooth surfaces of e.g. glass or plastics.

Tapes and patches

• 18mm DCF tape uses 0.8 oz DCF.
• 25mm DCF tape uses 1.0 oz DCF.
• Tapes can seal sewn seams to make them waterproof and stronger.
• You can also cut a tape into small sections (w/ corners rounded) to repair wear points on a stuf sack or to repair small punctures on a groundsheet.
• Patches use 1.0 oz DCF.
• Tapes and patches are white (semi-transparent) to fit better into the other colors of DCF.

Backpack repairs

• To repair hybrid DCF, Challenge ULTRA, and so on where the surface of the fabric is woven
• A set includes two circular patches:
  • The polyester patch is used on the surface of a backpack.
  • The DCF patch is used inside the backpack.

Tips & Notes

• The patches and tapes must be applied with pressure. To do it, use a pressing roller or a ruler to scrape slowly, with force, over the sticked area.
• Will not stick to silicone fabrics.
